As our time here in Omaha is coming to an end, I feel like we are down to the FINAL CHECK MARKS of things we need to do. For Randy's final spring break we went to Kansas City for the night. We went out to eat at T-Rex. The boys thought it was a lot of fun, but Randy and I were not impressed so much with the food. The next day we spent at Liberty Jail and took a tour of The Community of Christ Temple. It was a lot of fun and big CHECK on my list of things to do!

Batman and Robin

Tyler and Jace love to dress up and be Batman and Robin. I use the word dress up loosely. Their grandma made them really cute Batman costumes but this is what they end up wearing most of the time as they run around my house!

The Best of Times and the Hardest of Times!

I guess I have not been able to bring myself to blog about things going on in my life because it is really hard to put into words the emotions. This summer has been an experience of a lifetime. I have never given so much of myself for any specific cause. I have never believed in a message and a single person the way I did for my dad. I couldn't go to sleep at nights, because I would be thinking about the campaign. I would go running and all I could think about was the campaign. I guess I became obsessed with only one goal on my mind. August 17th was one of the hardest days I have gone through. Some people may laugh or turn their heads to this, but to me it was real. It hit me and it hit me hard. It was a part of me that was lost. I watched the election results come in and with hope and faith I held on until the bitter end. My dad lost by about 2000 votes. It was so close and in the blink of an eye everything we worked for was now over. That night I hurt for my dad! I am so proud of my dad and the lessons he taught me. I know that he ran for governor for the right reasons. I know that he loves our great country and the great state of Wyoming. There were so many blessings and miracles that happened along the way. I have to admit I have gone through the mourning process. From being numb to angry to saying "what if" to tears. I have come to the conclusion that the WHAT IF game is a very dangerous game. Things happen that are out of our control. The things we could control my dad did with class and with honor, and this is what I am so proud of! It is a very hard decision to put your name on the line. When you put your name out there, you are automatically up for mockery from anyone and everyone. I am so proud of my dad for taking that chance and bringing a message to the voters of Wyoming. It was a message of true conservative values. A message of less government and less spending. It was a message of our constitutional rights and our great founding fathers. It was a message of family values. Many criticized him for these values but he would never deviate from his message to win more votes. He was willing to take a stance and stay true to what he believed. I was so humbled as I watched so many people work so hard and sacrifice so much time, energy and money for MY DAD! They believe in him and my dad brought hope to so many voters across the state. I saw as my little Tyler would walk up to doors and knock and say "Vote for my grandpa." What a great lesson my kids learned. I saw people tear up as they heard my dad speak. They believe in him as much as I believe in him! He is a true hero in my book and I am so proud of the dad, grandpa and example he is to me. I am so thankful for the great opportunities I had. I am thankful for the new passion I have developed and I know my dad made a difference! So YES we lost but I will hold my head high and always be thankful for the experiences I had. I will never regret the decision my family and my parents made 2 1/2 years ago to have my dad run for governor. It was the right thing to do and I know we made a difference in Wyoming!

I am sorry if you have read through all of this! I know it is long, but thank you for caring about the election! It means a lot knowing people took an interest in what my family went through this summer.

The Campaign Trail

I just wanted to add a few pictures of our little adventure in this campaign season! My sister, Angela, me and all of our boys went out to door to door across the state Wyoming! We ended up in Sheridan, Buffalo, Moorcroft, Newcastle, and Gillette. It was a great week and the boys were SOOOOO good. They love knocking on doors and handing people a brochure about their grandpa! Come July 3rd I am going to be in Wyoming up until election day. I cannot believe we are this close! RON MICHELI FOR GOVERNOR YAY!!!!

Cute Little Campaigners

These little blazers and khakis were a great find at TJ Max while my sister Angela was here in Omaha visiting me. We got one for each of the little boys. We figure the boys will be going around campaigning and they should look like little politicians. Maybe we are corrupting them at a young age, but they sure are cute. Plus, Tyler loves to wear his jacket he says he is a missionary. So every week to church this is what he HAS to wear.

One Day at a Time

I first probably need to apologize because my life has now become somewhat crazy! I am a full time mom, but as of last week my dad, Ron Micheli, officially announced his candidacy for governor of the state of Wyoming. So what does this mean for me? I now have another full time job! I am so excited to be able to work on my dad's campaign. I will be moving forward with the volunteer effort on the campaign. This is really exciting to me because it is the volunteers that will win the election for my dad. I have already been working with so many wonderful people who are willing to help, and I am so thrilled that I will have the opportunity to meet so many more great people. It has already been a lot of work and I know there is so much more work ahead of us! So I am sorry that many of my blogs may be about what is going on with the campaign. I am sorry that many of you will get bugged by me with emails, facebook and blogs! But hey this is what I am doing with my life right now! It is what takes up most of my days and what I fall asleep thinking about. My dad always says, "This decision, was a family decision, so I don't say I am running for governor... I say WE are running for governor!" So with that I am committed, and we are running for governor. While Randy is at school and studying all hours of the night, I have found doing projects helps me get through each day. Here are a few of the recent things I have done. Both of the projects are from old window frames.

This is a picture frame I made out of an old widow. I put our family pictures in each window!

This is a window frame that I use as my white board. With a weekly calendar on it and a TO DO list.

Perfect Halloween!

I thought I better put up some pictures of my cute kids! They were so much fun this Halloween. My Wyoming Football Player was so excited to go trick or treating and then go to a PARTY!! My little alligator had a hard time walking in his costume but at least he stayed nice and warm. Randy dressed up as Doug (from Nickeledeon) and I was Doug's sister... SORRY DON'T HAVE ANY PICTURES OF US!!

OUR CRUISE!!

Being a mom is of course the most wonderful thing in the world... but I don't think anyone would disagree that sometimes a little break is not a bad thing!! A little time to enjoy your husband and great friends. I almost forget what it is like to do things without the little ones around!

For Randy's fall break; Randy and I, along with our good friends, Jordan, Elena,Chris and Summer; we went to Nassau,Bahama on a cruise. It was a blast to have a few days of relaxing in the sun, on the beach. I was so EXCITED to get back to my boys, and back to being a mom again!!

8 Hours of Triathlon

This summer I have exceeded all expectations for myself. I never in my wildest dreams would have ever thought that I was going to do a triathlon, a half marathon, three 5K runs, and an 8 hour triathlon. My final race was the 8 hour triathlon. The race was so much fun and a one of a kind event. The race went for 8 hours. In the 8 hours each team completed as many triathlons as possible in this amount of time. My team was my brothers Matt and Tony, also my good friend Elena was on our team. One triathlon was 1/4 mile swim, 2.6 mile run, and 11 mile bike ride. Again,we just kept going for 8 hours.

A Bedroom Set for Now

For 5 1/2 years now I have been wanting a cute little bedroom set. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money on something that NO ONE would ever see. I was doing my daily craigslists search when I saw this bedroom set. I immediately got it for a great deal. I came home and by the end of the week I had myself a bedroom set. I know it is simple and nothing fancy but it was a great project and it did not cost much at all. I guess it is everything I have been looking for.

Jace Is One!!

On Sept. 15 Jace had his first birthday! We didn't do anything super fancy but it was still fun to see him eat his chocolate cake and open his presents. Randy's cousin, Chris, just moved here to Omaha and their little girl, Kaisley, is one day younger than Jace. We had a little birthday party for both of them. Summer made both Kaisley and Jace the cutest little shirts! It is fun to watch as Jace has grown over the year, but yet I was so sad thinking of how big he is. I am not ready for my little baby to grow up yet.

Simplify!

This Sunday I am speaking in church about simplifying our lives. It has been the topic on my mind all week long. The topic seems so easy to "talk" about but it is a harder thing for me to actually put into practice. I have had 2 major thoughts and am wondering if they somehow can be tied together to use in my talk, I am also interested in getting more insight on the topic to help me so please share your ideas:

1. I know we are suppose to simplify and get rid of the unnecessary things in our lives. The problem, I see, is how do we choose?? Our lives are filled with so many good things... how do we take away the good? What should be our priorities? It is hard to know where to draw the line of what is too much in our lives.

2. The song that keeps coming to my mind is that "Don't Blink" song... Have any of you heard it? I don't want my life to be so busy that I miss out on the precious little moments. The moments where Jace climbs his first stair... or Tyler making his first basketball shot. There are so many great little things in life and if we aren't careful we will miss them. Life goes way too fast to be stressed about the unnecessary things.

So I am sorry for my rambling but I will get back to the point.... I am convinced we need to simplify our lives so we can make memories and make the most out of every day.

I need more insight on SIMPLIFYING!!

Fun Times In Chicago!

We were able to go to Chicago on Randy's week break of school. We drove to Chicago with our good friends Jordan and Elena. We got a room right in downtown. It was fun to walk around all of the different places in Chicago. We of course had to try out the pizza in Chicago and I have to admit it was pretty good. We saw the Sears Tower, Magnificent Mile, Grant Park, Millennium Park, The Beach of Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, and The Aquarium. It was a great trip but I don't think I am cut out for big city living!!

I Only Wish I Had Pictures of This

Have you ever had one of those moments when you are in a situation it REALLY is NOT funny, and then the next hour, day or after the matter it really is quite humorous? Well I just have to tell my sweet Tyler story!! The other night he came into bed at midnight and he was fevered. I gave him some medicine and Randy told Tyler that he would go lay on the floor in his room with him. All my boys (Randy, Tyler and Jace) are sound asleep in their room. At 3:00 am I hear Jace screaming and Tyler laughing having a great time. I yell in there asking Randy what was going on... no response... I yell some more... no answer! Finally, he wakes up and finds Tyler naked... no clothes on at all! He climbed into the crib with Jace and was jumping all around Jace and woke him up. Randy picked Jace up and his pants and diaper were off of him too! What a sight huh at 3:00 in the morning??? Two naked kids and a dad sleeping through it all on the floor! Randy brings Tyler to bed with us and he is just wide awake so Randy ended up on the couch watching a movie with Tyler to finally get him to sleep. In the middle of the night a story like this just isn't funny! When we woke up the next morning we just had to laugh at our kids both being naked at 3 am!!

Does This Make Life More Complicated?

I have wanted a dog for a very long time and while I was on a road trip visiting my family, Randy called and asked if I wanted a dog! After spending a week with my family on the ranch and seeing Tyler with the animals there (read previous blog) I just knew we needed a dog. Boone is the newest member of our little family. Tyler loves him and well I can only wish that Boone loved him as much. Needless to say a 2 year old is a little overwhelming to a dog, but Boone is learning and Tyler is learning too. Hopefully we won't give Boone a heart attack before they are use to one another. Yes it does feel like I have another child, but this child is a lot less work and does occupy Tyler a lot of the time. It is also fun to have a little running buddy. Boone loves it run so it is fun to have him come along on my runs. Plus I think every little boy needs a dog... DON'T YOU???

A New Best Friend

While we were at the ranch Tyler discovered a new friend....a baby calf!! Sometimes when the babies get cold or sick my Dad brings them in the basement to warm up. Such is the case here. Tyler quickly took a liking to this little guy. He was so cute petting him and talking to him.

Notice the piece of wood in Tyler's hand? Well that is hay Tyler was feeding the cow! HOW CUTE!

Best buddies!

Tyler had so much fun with all the cows. He loved to go feeding with Grandpa! There is nothing better for a little boy than ranch life!

Out Numbered!

A few weeks ago we were able to spend some time at the ranch with my family. Poor little Jace was out numbered by all the girls! There have been 5 babies born this year and Jace is the only boy! Poor Guy! Lucky for him he can fend for himself!

It is so fun to have cousins! Both of my boys have lots of kids around their age. It is so fun to have family, they make the best friends.

One Big Happy Family

I have never been very good at following the "books" on my parenting. I do remember once though reading, "NEVER LET YOUR KIDS INTO BED WITH YOU!" Each morning this is what I wake up to... Somehow Randy and I manage to sleep in the bed too! Tyler has gotten so good at sneaking into our bed with us and we will wake up and he is just there. I am so tired when Jace wakes up at night I just pull him into bed with us also. For quite a while I was feeling pretty bad about not following the books as a parent, and then I remembered what a good friend once told me before I even had Tyler. She said "Let them come into bed with you. Before you know it they will be grown up and not want to cuddle at all with you!" I have taken that new approach or maybe I am rationalizing my family bed. I want to be able to treasure each moment I have with my boys and I guess this is just one of those treasured moments for me.

Jace is such a Blessing to Us

On New Years Day we were able to have a blessing for Jace. It was a great day and we were so lucky to have family members there to share in the great day. Jace has been such a great little baby. He is SO happy and just stares at us and waits for us to talk to him. He has no problem just hanging out by himself in his chair and is really starting to play with toys. I love to watch him and Tyler interact. Jace will just stare at Tyler and laugh and laugh at him. It is so cute. Tyler is still so proud to be the big brother. I am so happy to have such a great little boy and am thankful for the blessing he is to our family!

No Better Place On Earth

There is nothing more exciting as a mom than to see my little boy begin to love the ranch the same way I love it. Tyler gets so excited to go out and help Grandpa and Dad feed the cows. For a little boy riding on a tractor is the best thing in the whole world.

Tyler thinks he is the biggest person in the world when he gets to drive the tractor!

Grandpa knows how to win over the kids! Every time they go with grandpa they get a treat from the gas station and they kids absolutely love it!

How Do You Explain the Love of a Mom??

I always thought I knew what my mom meant when she told me that she loved me. She would tell me that no matter what she would always love me. Even through those teenage years, she loved me still! I thought I knew what it meant to love little kids, as each one of my nieces and nephews hold a very special part in my heart. Yet, no one can explain a mothers love. It wasn't until I became a mother that I can truly understand and feel what a mother feels for each child. I never knew that I could sit and watch my little boys for hours and never get bored. I never knew that the screaming, messes, and diaper changes would NOT stop my love for them. How there little smiles melt my heart, and how Tyler can get away with anything with those beautiful, big, blue eyes. It is easy to love them through the happy times, but it is the hard times I find I love them more and more. It doesn't matter if Jace has a bad night and is up every few hours... I still love him the same. It doesn't matter if Tyler spills the goldfish all over the floor or breaks a dish (both happened tonight)... I still love him the same. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for my boys. I guess I will never be able to explain or express how much I love my kids, but when they are grown and have kids of their own, I think they will be able to understand then!!

GO BUFFS!!

The other night we were saying our family prayers and Tyler was repeating what his dad was saying in his prayer. When in the middle of his prayer he added his own wording for the first time... "GO BUFFS!!" His uncle Jameson plays football for Colorado University. Randy and Tyler made a trip to Boulder to watch Colorado vs Texas and then our whole family went to watch the Kansas State game. Randy's dad and little brother are going to come stay with us for Thanksgiving and the next day all the boys are going to the Nebraska football game in Lincoln. Our lives have revolved around CU's football schedule. Randy even missed a Halloween party to watch a football game. Tyler has his Buffs hat and shirt he has to wear on game day (dad's rules!). He also runs around cheering for the Buffs yelling "GO BUFFS!!" I guess there is no hope for the little guy. I don't know what we will do with our Saturdays once college football is over!!

Tyler LOVES his Brother, Jace!

I was so worried that Tyler would hit, kick, spit, or jump on Jace. To my surprise it has been the opposite. I have to watch Tyler's every move because he cannot get enough of Jace. Tyler can't pass Jace without giving him a hug or a kiss. I have to make sure he is not laying on top of him trying to hug him. His favorite thing to do is lay on floor and have Jace lay in his arms. He really feels like the big boy!! Jace is good with Tyler also... he doesn't scream every time Tyler comes around so he is tolerating the malling.

Jace Micheli Davis

I can't believe the long wait is finally over. Nine months of anticipation and now we are holding our little baby!! Jace Micheli Davis was born on September 15, 2008 at 2:55PM! He weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 inches long. He is absolutely perfect!! Randy brought me to the hospital on the 15th at 7:00AM to be induced. He left at 8:00AM to take a test. Luckily he didn't miss much! My mom was able to stay with Tyler and that was a huge lifesaver. Tyler loves his little brother and is full of hugs and kisses for Jace. We are in AWW at the tremendous blessing it is to have this baby as part of our family. We are also so humbled at this time with the family we have. I get scared thinking about the responsibility of two little boys and begin to get overwhelmed. I worry about the sleepless nights, the dirty house, the poopy diapers, the losing weight, and all that comes with having a baby. Then I look at my boys and the love I feel for them, and I am reminded how it is all worth it!!

Bed Rest... YUCK!!!

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and found out I am now on bed rest. I was in shock. I feel great and things have been going so great with my pregnancy. The baby is in the 12% for his growth rate and my fluids are really low. The doctor is hoping that by resting my fluids will increase. I didn't know what to say when she told me. I asked her what bed rest actually means... I have a 2 year old!!!! She explained I could get on the floor with him, but that it would be hard. Tyler has been so good and he actually keeps me entertained throughout the day. He is making the adjustment right now to me not doing as much with him, so hopefully that will beneficial when the baby is here. I got home from the doctor's office and signed up for Netflix so I watched 27 Dresses while Tyler took his nap. Then Tyler and I watched Tarzan. I am lucky that my job requires me to work on the computer and so that keeps me busy also. I have no excuses for slacking with my job. I have also done some scrapbooking on the computer, so hopefully I can do some catching up. I am anxious to go back to the doctor next week and see what the rest of the pregnancy has in store for me. It is hard not knowing... The baby could be here next week or I could be on bed rest for 3 more weeks.

Sprinkler Park

Tyler and his little friend Scarlet had fun playing at the sprinkler park. It took both of them a little while to warm up to the water, but by the end Tyler was having a lot of fun. It is nice to have places to go when it is so hot outside. Our friends, Mandy and Cal Bullock, from Laramie just moved to Omaha where he is also doing dental school. We all went to the park and the two kids have really kicked it off. They are really cute together and we are excited to have some Wyoming friends here in Omaha.

Frontier Days

We went to Frontier Days the end of July. Tyler loved going to the parade, the rodeo, and he loved watching the Thunderbird air show. We had fun visiting my brother, Matt, and his family.
